The Fenix Construction Services Group and the Berry Juice Construction Group have recently announced that they have merged their respective operations and will henceforth trade under the new brand, RadX Construction. Fenix and Berry Juice, as they are currently known in the market, have been operating as building and civil contractors in the Mozambique construction industry for the last 20 years. Between them, they have successfully delivered over 130 projects across numerous market sectors, including residential, commercial, tourism, agricultural, mining, and oil and gas. A number of these projects were conducted as joint ventures, and over time it became obvious to the companies’ management teams that merging the companies into one stronger and more competitive construction company made the best sense for all stakeholders. “Over the last 20 years, our respective businesses have endured and thrived in a very challenging and turbulent market,” says company director Reinier Meyjes. “We aim to build on this resilience to bring more stability to our merged group of companies. We will have greater capacity and geographical reach, leading to better diversification, and making us a more attractive regional contractor.” “Offering top-quality construction solutions in remote locations is in our DNA, so we will be on the lookout for these opportunities across Southern Africa,” Meyjes points out. One such project was the successful completion of Mozpark’s Topuito Industrial Park initial phase in Moma, Nampula province. In addition to its strong position in Mozambique, RadX Construction is also operating in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana. “At the moment, we are seeing a number of opportunities, particularly in Zimbabwe, and are well on the way to increasing our market presence and capacity there,” Meyjes concludes.
